Renewal

New Yorkers deserve dignity, rest, stability, and lives that feel livable.

The Mission

Renew government and the economy to restore dignity, meaning, and hope to daily life.

-

Life has gotten too fast. We work constantly and still can’t keep up. Technology has accelerated everything — our attention, our expectations, even our sense of self. People feel stretched thin.

We need to slow down.

We need to breathe again.

Right now, corporations and billionaires are already represented by both parties. Working people aren’t. And that imbalance is what makes daily life feel overwhelming. We don’t need to tear the system down — we need to balance it.

That means policies that restore room in our days and dignity in our lives.

A balanced society is a breathable one —

healthier, safer, and more human.

Growth Requires Boundaries

Corporations will always push for more profit, more scale, more efficiency. That’s their job.

Our job in government is to set guardrails so that growth doesn’t run over people’s lives.

Systems at large scale naturally become dehumanizing — they turn people into numbers because they have to. Our work is to bring things back to a human pace. To remind the system what it’s here to serve: life.

That means:

  • Insurance companies shouldn’t be able to charge whatever they want.
  • Landlords and developers shouldn’t be able to raise rent endlessly.
  • Workers shouldn’t be pushed to burnout.
  • Technology shouldn’t control the pace of our days.
  • Consumer protections

Guardrails aren’t punishment — they’re balance.
Like seatbelts or nutrition labels, they don’t stop companies from operating — they just make sure people can live well within the system.

The market grows.
We balance it.
Work matters.
Life matters too.

Bring Balance

A plan to restore harmony between work and life, power and people, progress and peace.

  • The People’s Fund – a sovereign wealth fund owned by the people
  • The Balance Tax - a fair contribution from extreme wealth to fund national investment.
  • Freedom Accounts – portable, universal work benefits.
  • Four-Day Work Week – balance productivity and wellbeing.
  • Term Limits for Congress – restore accountability and renewal.
  • Quality of Daily Life Index (QDL) – measure what really matters.
  • America First but Not Only – rebuild home, lead with peace abroad
  • Mindfulness & Resilience for Police – community safety through training.

The People's Fund

We will create a publicly-owned investment fund - built from a Balance Tax on extreme wealth - that grows shared prosperity instead of letting it pool in the hands of the few.

The Fund invests in housing, infrastructure, clean energy and innovation—creating jobs, lowering rents, and paying dividends directly to citizens through Freedom Accounts.

Freedom Accounts

Every citizen will have a Freedom Account: a portable, personal benefits account that moves with you from job to job. It covers essentials like:

  • Healthcare and mental health support
  • Paid time off and family leave
  • Childcare support
  • Retirement stability

No matter where you work.

No matter your income.

Security that travels with you.

This is how we restore stability, dignity, and choice to everyday life.

Four-Day Work Week

America works harder and longer than almost any nation, yet people feel more exhausted than ever.  A national pilot program would offer temporary incentives for businesses to test a 32-hour week with full pay, proving that healthier workers are more productive workers.

As new tools like automation and AI increase efficiency, we can share those gains through time — more rest, family, and creativity — instead of stress and burnout.  The goal is simple: let progress give people their lives back.

Term Limits for Congress

Public service should be a duty, not a career.  Term limits—twelve years maximum in either chamber—would open the door for new voices, reduce corruption, and keep government connected to real life.  Balance means fresh energy and honest rotation, so Congress serves the people, not itself.

Quality of Daily Life Index (QDL)

GDP tells us how fast the economy is growing, but not whether life is getting better.  The Quality of Daily Life Index would track stress, commute times, access to healthcare, clean air, green space, and community connection—giving Congress a real picture of how Americans actually feel and live.  Balance means measuring success not just by profits, but by peace of mind.

America First but Not Only

True strength begins with caring for our own people.  We rebuild America’s foundation—education, infrastructure, clean energy—and lead abroad through diplomacy, cooperation, and climate action, not endless wars.  Balance at home creates peace in the world.

Mindfulness and Resilience for Police

Federal grants to train officers in mindfulness, stress management, and emotional regulation.  These programs reduce violent encounters, improve community trust, and make officers themselves healthier, calmer, and more fulfilled in their work.
A balanced police culture protects everyone, including the people who serve.

How This Campaign Works

This campaign is about restoring balance — slowing things down enough to actually listen and connect.

And I’m running to represent people, not to be a content creator.

So we’re not running the campaign on social media.

Not out of rejection — but because those platforms run life at a pace that works against everything we’re rebuilding.

We can't resist corporate power and culture if they control the pace and style of the conversation.

We’re also not taking corporate PAC money, including AIPAC or any group that tries to buy political outcomes. Representation should stay human, not purchased.

We’re organizing in person: conversations, door-knocking, small circles, neighbor to neighbor.

Human pace. Human presence.

Politics should feel like people, not content.

My name's Matt and I'm running for Congress in New York's 13th District. Life for working people has gotten too expensive, too exhausting - and we deserve a life where we can breathe.

I grew up the son of small business owners who've worked hard for over 25 years. I'm a guncle to a bunch of nieces and nephews so I think a lot about the future we're handing down.

I've spent most of my life in people-facing work - my parent's bagel shop, four years as a barista and now at Trader Joe's. Before TJ's I spent a few years in advertising strategy, but I wanted a life that felt more human and grounded. Since moving to Harlem in 2020 I served for a year as President of my block association and helped build a tiny spiritual community.

Here's what I see, and it's nothing you don't know: people are tired. Not defeated - just stretched thin. Meanwhile, billionaires already have representation. They don't need more support. We do.

This campaign is about balance - from the bottom up. Making everyday life feel livable again, and restoring dignity and stability.
